Private Practice Tip - Individual & Group Therapy Is Only The Beginning Of Being In Private Practice
When I speak with therapists (psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors), it truly amazes
me how many of them think that being in private practice is just about doing therapy.
In reality, being in private practice is about so much more.
First and foremost, being in private practice means working for yourself.
The benefits of that are whatever you allow them to be:
And that is truly just the beginning.
Now, I know some of you might be shaking your head, and thinking, “It’s just not that easy.”
Well, you are 100% right.
It is not that easy.
But, if you follow a plan and put in your time, energy, and resources, you can create the private practice of your dreams, and fulfill all of your goals and dreams.
So what is being in private practice then?
While doing individual therapy is typically the standard; private practice can mean whatever you want it to be.
And yes, that can include doing individual therapy.
It can also include conducting group therapy, couples counseling, marriage counseling, and family therapy.
Being in private practice can offer any combination of the above, as well as so much more:
The key to developing the private practice of your dreams, is realizing what you want.
It’s that simple.
Well, at least it can start that simple.
Once you realize what you want to do, you can begin focusing on getting there.
Yes, it is going to take time.
But, I can promise you it will be worth it, as long as you are honest with yourself, and go after what you want.
The dream of being in private practice is still very much alive.
Think big, and go after what you want.
Unfortunately, the hardest part for most people is resetting their beliefs and mindset about what they are capable of doing.
After that, the sky is the limit.
There will be difficulty along the way. In fact, there will be a lot of difficult along the way.
But your ability to persevere and overcome these difficulties will make your dream possible.
You too can develop a strong private practice.
